The recessed lights are manufactured with two different support means. Typically, the housing of a remodeling lamp is held by pushing metal clips through the housing to the top of the ceiling, drywall, or drywall. Newly built luminaires are fastened by screwing or nailing the luminaire frame to the ceiling beams. The main difference between recessed lighting in a remodel and that of new construction is the way in which the lighting is supported.
During the remodeling, the lighting is inserted into a pre-cut opening in the ceiling and is held up using metal clips. In new constructions, the luminaires are nailed or bolted to the ceiling beams themselves. Before comparing remodeled housings with newly built ones, it is useful to familiarize yourself with the different parts of the recessed luminaire itself.
